Grand Hyatt Gurgaon Book with Foil-Stamped Halftone

12/15/2014

Active recently produced marketing books for the Grand Hyatt Gurgaon Residences, a luxury residential development near New Dehli. The books - designed by Robert Louey Design of Santa Monica - were intended to showcase the attention to detail brought to the development by architects Foster + Partners and interior designer Tony Chi.

Just like the Gurgaon development, the final book was the result of close attention to many small details – the placement of the cover cloth, the thickness and color of the bookmark cloth, and dozens of hours of color correction and retouching.

The cover of the book features an unusual use of foil-stamping. While most people are familiar with foil-stamping of flat tints, in this case the cover has foil-stamp of a screened halftone. The image is a detailed photograph of a piece of etched glass from the development’s entrance lobby.
